America's heritage has stood in the fields and beside farm houses for over a century in the form of barns. Historic barns are becoming more difficult to find, and due to the increase in comercially zoned land are being destroyed. Reclaimed Barns & Beams reclaims the wood from these hand hewed, pinned barns that have stood the tests of time. It is our hope that we can transform this wood into vintage farm tables, chairs, ceiling beams, mantles and more. This will give us a chance to keep the history of these barns alive and with us for years to come.

It can be a crowbar, a hammer, or a chainsaw in my hand. I love the work. There is something exciting to me about being in these old barns. You never know what you will find or what someone else will create from what I find. The work is hard, tiring, and so very dirty, but I just love doing it.

Reclaimed Barns & Beams provides lumber to those who create using historic wood that has a story.

Those Around You...

Reclaiming a dream doesn’t always come with encouragement from others. You have “The Idea.” The idea that you feel so much excitement around… The idea you have been trying to uncover for years... You know it is very different and not many will understand your idea when you explain it.

But who do you tell?

Who do you bounce your thoughts off of?

What will they think?

How many ways will they tell you that your idea is … impossible… crazy… a longshot… a nice idea, but!

I think that one of the hardest things to overcome when entering into the world of entrepreneurialism is the opinion of those around you.  There is always someone willing to share all the things that could and most likely will go wrong.

Is it that so many have trouble seeing the good in following your dreams?

Is it that if you step out of your normal routine to reclaim your dream that they will feel inferior?

Whatever it is, don’t let it stop you. Don’t feel alone. Find dreamers like yourself to listen to you. Share your thoughts with sounding boards that will encourage you and offer positive feedback to you. Enjoy your success and let them be your focus as you reclaim your dream.

The following thoughts are so important to being successful:

1.      Know that anything is possible.

2.      It takes courage to do something different.

3.      There will be bumps in the road, but the road is still travelable.

4.      Find those that will encourage you and share your dreams with them.

5.      Be encouraging to others as it is contagious.

6.      Stay positive no matter what!

And most importantly, don’t stop Reclaiming your dreams!
